Covid Policy Update January 2022
A reminder on our sick policy and an update to reflect the new CDC guidelines. There are many normal sicknesses going around right now in addition to the new variant of COVID. Our most effective action toward maintaining a healthy and safe rehearsal environment has proven to be keeping sick individuals at home. With the new variant now in play, we are asking families to please be extra vigilant regarding sick symptoms. If students or staff are feeling any symptoms of any illness please remain at home until symptoms have cleared (please don’t just come to class with a mask on). Students must have all symptoms fully cleared for 24 hours before returning to class.

In accordance with the new CDC guidelines, if a student tests positive for COVID, they must isolate for 5 days and be 24-hours fever free before returning to class. Students who have been exposed to COVID may return to class after completing a 5-day quarantine (assuming they are symptom free).

Our lobby will continue to be open for seating to students waiting in between classes and Twirl parents only. (Parents of kids ages 7 and under may still accompany their students to enter class) We'll be opening observation curtains in the upstairs studios the last 10 minutes of class and parents may come in and observe during these observation times to keep our capacity numbers manageable and maintain the peaceful learning environment our students have come to enjoy this year!

Turning Pointe reserves the right to pause or reverse its return-to-normal plan at any time. Any Covid-positive staff members and students will still be expected to stay home until they are out of the CDC recommended isolation window.

Turning Pointe warmly welcomes EACH family to make the choice that is right for them and encourages parents to talk to their children about this transitional period as well. We continue to encourage the kindness and empathy which you have shown since the very beginning. YOU are truly what make us More Than Just Great Dancing!® and we thank you for your continued support!

SAFER STUDIOS POLICY
Turning Pointe requires all staff and students to stay home when they are ill. In order to reduce community spread of Coronavirus, we follow best practices and recommendations from our local health department and from our industry association, More Than Just Great Dancing!® and Youth Protection Advocates in Dance. TPD understands that unlike older children and adults, young children cannot be expected to maintain social distancing at all times. Therefore TPD focuses on a hierarchy of measures beginning with keeping ill people home, followed by frequent hand cleaning and good hygiene practices, amplified cleaning, and curricular and facility adaptations to minimize contact and mingling where possible. All studio classes are backed up on an online learning platform. In the event a class is unable to be held at the studio classes will convert to an online learning platform until in-studio classes can resume. Please note that the service TPD provides is dance instruction- whether the delivery be in person or online. Online dance instruction is a compensatory service.
